92 Greene

The design concept of 92 Greene was to create a modern work environment that inspires young underprivileged artists in the New York City metro area by fostering them in a creative and collaborative space.  This eight floor loft will allow artists to work, live, and showcase their commissions.  This artist loft will be a mixed use building that will host gallery events, working studios, as well as the daily support for young residents. The programming and initial shaping of each interior space began with honoring the cast iron architecture while creating functionality for both the guests and the public.  Inspiration for this project was immensely drawn from the historic SoHo neighborhood that once housed the iconic working artists during the 1970s and 80s.  Throughout the eight floors, there is an even balance between gallery space, working studios, as well as residential environments to allow operability for both the residents and public guests.
