NYSID Hosts Student Exhibition at Holiday House

On December 3, select students, alumni, faculty and supporters gathered at a special event at the esteemed Holiday House, the annual showhouse that raises funds for breast cancer research. On the invitation of Iris Dankner, founder of Holiday House, NYSID students from Residential I Studio course were asked to create a design for the magnificent parlor room at Holiday House.

Alexa Hampton and Thom Filicia, design chairs of Holiday House were the judges for six student projects. This year Holiday House has 27 rooms designed by top designers such as Campion Platt, Mario Buatta, Christopher Hyland, Tony Ingrao and Randy Kemper and many others;  on view through December 18.

After much deliberation, Hampton and Filica chose Siang Liu as the 1st Place winner and the designs of Rachel Gelender and Casey Lichter as Runners Up.  Dena Feintuch, Olga Dmitrieva, and Montana Timchula’s designs were also on display.

Notables, designers, alums and friends attended, including Darrin Varden, Geoffrey Bradfield, Drew McGukin, Campion Platt, Jim Druckman, Ruth Lynford, Betsey Ruprecht, Iris Dankner, Brock Forsblom of Ingrao, Patrick Hamilton, and many more.
