In today’s society, we as individuals are wired in a way to blend into “society’s ways” and do not usually notice how it affects us both mentally and physically. The idea of putting ourselves first ends up falling down the ladder and we put work, school, or family life first. Unfortunately many individuals end up suffering from mental and physical issues and end up digging a hole so deep for themselves that they are not able to get out. Living in big cities like New York City for example one is susceptible to some form of stress. Here one has to worry about work, money, family, and school all while trying to fit in with the hustle and bustle of the pace of the city. Worrying about all these topics naturally leads individuals to suffer from fatigue, anxiousness, headache, anger, and/or lack of interest and energy. These symptoms of stress reflect both mental and physical issues and also promote unhealthy living habits such as alcohol abuse, stress eating, drug abuse.
There’s also a form of abusing ourselves whether it be physically or mentally and abusing those around us. In order to help reduce these stress levels, one must always prioritize the idea of rest. According to the Cambridge Dictionary resting is meant “to (cause someone or something to) stop doing a particular activity or stop being active for a period of time in order to relax and get back your strength”. Forcing individuals into situations where they are required to rest in some way from their triggers is extremely important in today’s society and New York City. One needs to not only feel comfortable in their body and surrounding but also need to feel more vital in all aspects of their day to day life. This project will focus on how natural elements and relaxation activates reduce work, school, and personal stress and make individuals rejuvenate both mentally and physically.
