FROM INSPIRATION TO HOME DESIGN

Vicente will share his inspirations for design elements found in art and nature. As an avid traveler, he will also share how shopping excursions in far-flung locales contribute to his work. See how these elements spark his creative process and how they contribute to his vision in actual home design projects covered in his new book CREATIVE INTERIOR SOLUTIONS, (Rizzoli; April 2023).

Creative Interior Solutions - Author Vicente Wolf and Margaret Russell, Foreword by Marianne Williamson

In this book, celebrated AD100 designer Vicente Wolf shares the expertise he has honed over forty plus successful years in the business. Wolf’s work is characterized by a passion for integrity and simplicity; a sophisticated sense of space, color, and ease; masterful handling of furniture, fabrics, and art; and the use of rare antiques and exceptional handcrafted pieces (many acquired on annual globe-trotting adventures). This new volume distills his knowledge into wide-ranging and easily applicable recommendations. Organized topically and illustrated with Wolf’s own photographs, the design principles are engaging, absorbing, and above all practical—from coping with the challenges inherent in life transitions to overcoming space and budget limitations to working with art and other collections and remaking outdated spaces. The book also includes an in-depth look at Wolf’s own loft in New York City and how he designs for himself.

About The Author

Admired for his impeccable eye and unique vision of the world, Vicente Wolf has been at the top of the design industry for over forty years. He is the author of Learning to See, Lifting the Curtain on Design, Crossing Boundaries, and The Four Elements of Design. Marianne Williamson is a best-selling author, political activist, and spiritual thought leader. Margaret Russell is a design journalist, editor, stylist, and former editor in chief of Architectural Digest and Elle Decor.

For nearly 50 years, acclaimed New York City-based designer, Vicente Wolf, has been an internationally renowned trailblazer. Early on, starting in the mid 1970’s, Vicente became a force in the home furnishings revolution, changing the vocabulary of interior design into a sleeker, modern vision rivaling the heavy, European-style interiors that were in vogue. Known for his high gloss white spaces, he earned the moniker “The White Knight.”

A passionate traveler, Vicente’s annual jaunts to exotic destinations such as Burma, India and Thailand provide him with a global perspective that he weaves into his residential and hospitality designs. According to Vicente, incorporating these authentic artifacts and furnishings with modern décor in a warm, neutral palette captures a sense of earthy charisma, timelessness, and soul. In 1999 Vicente opened VW Home by Vicente Wolf showroom adjacent to his design studio, making these finds available to other designers and design enthusiasts alike.

Wolf has graced the pages of all the top shelter publications and received many of the industry’s top distinctions. Prestigious honors include perpetual listings on Elle Décor’s A-List, AD 100 and has been a NY Spaces Top 50 Designer, Cottages & Gardens Innovator of the Year, Inductee into Interior Design magazine's Hall of Fame and House Beautiful magazine’s 10 most influential designers, to name a few. In 2021 he was included in the inaugural, ultra-select group of design influencers on Elle Décor magazine’s TITAN A-List.
