SUZY GENZLER JOINS NYSID AS NEW PROGRAM DIRECTOR of Master of Professional Studies in Healthcare Interior Design (MPSH)

The New York School of Interior Design is proud to announce the appointment of healthcare designer and personal experience advocate Suzy Genzler as director of the Master of Professional Studies in Healthcare Interior Design (MPSH) program. Suzy is a Senior Associate, Healthcare Designer at NK Architects, an Evidence Based Design (EDAC) certified professional, and actively involved with the larger healthcare community, serving as co-chair of Program committee for Women in Healthcare, New York Metro Chapter. Her recent client roster includes Mount Sinai, Montefiore, NYU Health, Mercy College, St. Barnabas Hospital and Hackensack Meridian. She is the point person for NK’s JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion) initiative. Suzy holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from NYSID.

NYSID’s Master of Professional Studies in Healthcare Interior Design is an innovative, interdisciplinary program that provides designers an opportunity to learn from practicing healthcare designers, medical planners, Capital Projects team members in healthcare institutions, and healthcare environment researchers. The curriculum provides a broad and deep knowledge of current issues, research, and theory in the design of healthcare interiors that is applied in focused studio experiences.

In response to her appointment, Suzy said, "I am excited for this role as the Program Director for the opportunity to help continue to build this important program of healthcare design at NYSID. I look forward to working to bring higher education and the professional design community together. In this role, I hope to be a support to the overall healthcare design field and bring my curiosity, creativity and focus to the program and people. "

Enthusiasm for Suzy’s addition to the NYSID team is apparent. Per NYSID Dean and VP for Academic Affairs Ellen Fisher, “Suzy Genzler is an experienced practitioner and thought-leader. She personifies the commitment of interior designers to improving people’s lives by creating responsive and high-functioning healthcare environments. I look forward to working with Suzy to achieve her vision of the NYSID MPSH program as the world’s leading graduate program for all aspects and categories of Healthcare interiors and practice settings.”
